Purpose of the platform

Your content

You are responsible for all content you log or post on StrainLog. You agree not to post content that is explicit, offensive, defamatory, illegal, or harmful to others.

By submitting a public community experience you grant StrainLog a perpetual, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform and to include it in anonymised, aggregated datasets used for research, product recommendations, and industry insights. This licence survives account deletion. Your personal information will be removed but the community contribution remains anonymously attributed.

You retain ownership of your private journal entries. These are never shared and are permanently deleted upon account deletion.

Community visibility

Public logs may be seen by other registered members of the same shop community. Choose your visibility setting carefully before submitting a log — you can change a log from public to private at any time from your journal.

Data and aggregated insights

StrainLog collects anonymised, aggregated experience data — mood tags, effect tags, and usage patterns — across the platform. This data is used to power product recommendations, generate industry insights, and support research and advocacy relating to the cannabis and wellness sector in South Africa. Your personal details are never included. Only anonymised patterns are used.

By using StrainLog you consent to your anonymised experience data being used in this way. You can review our full Privacy Policy for more detail.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time via your Account dashboard. Upon deletion:

Content moderation

StrainLog and participating retailers reserve the right to remove or moderate any content that violates these terms, is harmful to the community, or is otherwise inappropriate. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

Powered by StrainLog

Some experiences on this platform are delivered through retailer-branded subdomains. Regardless of branding, the underlying platform, data infrastructure, and these terms are operated by StrainLog. The "Powered by StrainLog" attribution on retailer experiences indicates this relationship.

Disclaimer

The platform is provided as-is. StrainLog makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any content posted by community members. We are not liable for any decisions made based on community experiences shared on the platform. Community logs represent personal experiences only and should not be treated as medical advice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from use of StrainLog shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of StrainLog after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
